New Hall Stud

Owner and Manager Gordon Thom has 32 years experience and runs the stud with 3 stud grooms and in conjunction with an excellent veterinary practice Barr & McMillan, and local Farrier Lee Christie.

The stud is situated close to Weipers Centre for Equine Welfare at the University of Glasgow Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, approximately one hour away.

The premises were purpose built to house the broodmare band and their followers which at present includes 20 in-foal broodmares, 17 yearlings, horses out of training and resting broodmares.

New Hall Stud has bred horses which have won in various countries including Sweden, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Hong Kong and the USA as well as numerous winners in the UK.  The most recent of which are Geojimali, winner of the Ayr Silver Cup and Chookie Hamilton which has won 4 of his last 5 starts to date

 

Flat season 2007

New Hall Stud flat season is off to a flyer with a double at Musselburgh.

2y/o Primo Heights winning the first 2y/o race of the year and Geojimali winning the sprint 5f were both bred at New Hall Stud with Scotland's leading trainer of 2006 Jim Goldie.

Harken Heights, dam of Geojimali and owned by Jim Goldie, is in foal to, and has a yearling by, Lucky Story.
